CPCUMC wanted to improve the Layity & Clergy voting process. Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the United Methodist Church was soon having their conference. The election process had to be faster this year. In previous years the voting was collected, recorded and counted by hand. It took long hours and many rounds of votes to finalize the results. Whatever the solution was, it had to be faster, more accurate and had to stay within a specific budget.
We worked with CPCUMC in developing a custom-designed two page form and voting ballots for the Layity & Clergy election. Higher Information Group printed the forms and the ballots which were handed out at the beginning of the conference. After each round, the votes were scanned and electronically tabulated into a spreadsheet. Higher Information Group’s IT Services Division provided optical character recognition software that enabled CPCUMC to digitally record and tabulate the election results, round after round. Higher Information Group’s staff helped scan and tabulate each round’s data.
